Experience South America on Wickham Street

Maizland has burst onto the Brisbane food scene, bringing a fresh and unique take on South American cuisine to Fortitude Valley. Originally starting out as a weekend market stall, Maizland has grown exponentially, and have since launched a fully-fledged restaurant at 540 Wickham Street, Fortitude Valley in early February this year.

We are proud to have assisted them in securing their 62sqm restaurant in 'HQ North.' It was a pleasure sitting down with Edwin & Angie, owners of Maizland, to discuss their inspirations in starting, and their plans for the future.    When asked about their inspirations for starting Maizland, they recounted their humble beginnings at various markets across Brisbane, where they received an overwhelming response from the local community. With their passion for South American cuisine and a drive to expand their business, they knew they had to take the leap and open up a restaurant.
One of the questions we asked was why they chose Fortitude Valley for their first restaurant location. This area was a no-brainer for them, with its close proximity to the markets and its central location, it made perfect sense to set up shop in the bustling suburb. They emphasized that being close to their customers was of utmost importance, and the location had to be easily accessible for their loyal fan base.

As for the future plans of Maizland, the owners excitedly revealed that they have plans to expand even further, setting up locations across Brisbane, catering to a wider audience and bringing their delicious cuisine to more people. This is an exciting time for Maizland and its loyal customers, who eagerly await the expansion of this fantastic establishment.
