Brisbane City Council Planning and Building Economic Recovery Initiatives 10 July 2020

From July 2020, Brisbane City Council has introduced a range of free and discounted services to help with the recovery of the building sector.  The Council also aims to deliver faster and more efficient assessments for development applications.

The new planning and building initiatives include:

• Application fee reductions

• Dedicated house and homes assessment team

• New buildings and construction hotline – 133plan (133 7526)

• Discounted ‘open door’ pre-lodgement meeting service

• Automatic extension of time for eligible existing development approvals

• Faster assessment for a request to change a development approval

• Reduced minimum value for bonding uncompleted works

• Brisbane green buildings incentive
